Donating to causes | March 2023
Over the past few months, we shared our support in the areas of trans health advocacy, gun safety, reproductive rights, domestic partner violence prevention, mental health support, and the arts.
Seeing positive impact
Every couple of months, we follow up with the organizations we’ve donated to in the past to see how they are getting along – how the funds are being used, what stories they’ve shared, and to see what we can learn from them. A couple highlights are below.
The Kentucky Health Justice Network’s Trans Health Bill Tracker provides text and updates about legislation we have identified as affecting the rights of trans Kentuckians. This breaks down the language of each proposed bill and offers guidance on supporting or opposing based on the KHJN’s values, as well as updates on the most recent actions of the bills.
In 2022, the Revive Life House addiction recovery center received 1,007 applications for their Men’s Recovery program. They launched evening hours for Outpatient Clients, renovated the work-out space at the Adam Lowe Center, and implemented Medication Assistance Treatment in their Residential Program.
In recent months, EveryTown Survivor Network has hosted a myriad of community conversations on topics including the Impact of Gun Violence on America’s Youth, Public Health Leaders, and more. They also lead bi-monthly informational sessions to help survivors learn about the resources, support and advocacy opportunities that are available through the Survivor Network, including connections and mentorship with other survivors, support groups, and advocacy opportunities.
Indigenous Women Rising shared a podcast that highlights Evolving Choices for Native Family Planning, given recent changes in legislation.
